Inland Revenue (IR) is making tax simpler, more open and more certain for New Zealanders and transforming the way we do business. We're making changes to our systems, how we do things, the ways we work and the way we're organised across the whole of IR.

In the people space, we're doing exciting, award-winning things to shift IR to become a truly capability-based organisation. We're designing a people experience where our people feel empowered, enabled and informed – so we give our customers a great experience too.

The Transition Support Service (TSS) team has been set up to provide support services to business areas going through change. We have a fantastic opportunity for Senior HR advisor to join us on a fixed term or secondment basis until June 2020.

You will provide advice and support through the various stages of organisational design and the management of change to support quality change experiences for our people.

This is a role with lots of variety – where you'll engage with our most senior leaders to develop plans and approaches. You'll also roll up your sleeves with hands-on activities such as capability based role design, job change analysis, selection processes and producing supporting documentation. You will be working in a demanding and deadline driven environment alongside other experienced people to provide top notch change support and ensure a consistent and transparent process for our people.

We will be looking for you to demonstrate your:

  • HR expertise including people change management, employment relations and/or selection and recruitment processes, and the ability to apply that knowledge in a change programme environment
  • adaptability and agility in managing competing priorities, multiple streams of work in a fast-paced work environment
  • ability to operate effectively and credibly with a wide stakeholder group, including senior leaders
  • resilient, driven and collaborative approach; a strong team player
  • ability to identify opportunities for innovation and to recommend and implement changes
  • ability to critically analyse complex information, make effective recommendations and deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • proactive, positive and able to deal with ambiguity

HR opportunities of this scale rarely come up. You can expect challenge and hard work, but you'll also have fun and gain valuable experience in a supportive team setting.
