About the role

 

We have an opportunity for enthusiastic Customer Service Officers – Level 1 to join our Hamilton Significant Enterprises teams on a permanent or fixed term basis until November 2019 to support us through our Business Transformation journey.

 

This is an excellent way to enhance your career as part of a great team, while helping our customers manage their tax affairs.  Most people meet their obligations of their own accord.  However, there are some who don't and that's where our Significant Enterprises Interaction teams come in.

 

We are looking for people who can carry out a range of recovery activities which include recovery and enforcement and future compliance while being emotionally resilient, confident and capable of dealing with adverse and difficult conversations professionally.

What you'll need to bring to the role

 

To be successful in this role ideally you will:

 

  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate sound decision making, analytical and strong negotiation skills
  • Sound knowledge of the debt and hardship provisions including legislation and policies  
  • Be an outcomes-orientated self-starter
  • Be able to work independently and also thrive in a team environment.

Additional Information

 

If you are currently employed by Inland Revenue as a Customer Service Officer Level 1 (or it is your substantive position), you will not need to go through a recruitment process & will be eligible to apply for the position through the EOI process.

 

If the successful applicant is a permanent Inland Revenue employee, they will be permanently appointed to the position.  If the successful applicant is currently on a fixed term employment agreement, they will be offered a fixed term employment agreement until 29th November, 2019.
