Job Specification

Inland Revenue (IR) is transforming; we're making it easier for customers to do business with us. We're listening and working collaboratively with customers, agencies across government, and in the private sector as we design new processes and services. We have started digitising our current world, extending our digital boundaries and now need to progress the journey to become digital at our core.

In these two-year fixed term positions, our newly created Channel Owners are tasked with interpreting strategy then designing and driving the implementation of a roadmap for their particular channel.   This could cover our “myIR” authenticated channel, the new core IR website, B2B / API channels and our portfolio of digital micro-services.

  • We'll be looking to see your depth of both digital savvy and channel or product ownership – we're cutting new ground, and need someone with the wisdom that comes with having successfully delivered to strategy before.  We'd also like to see your curiosity to explore the possibilities.

  • We're passionate about being customer-centric and intelligence-led, and you're someone who appreciates that people enable this change.

  • This is a broad reaching role; we need you to be confident influencing at all levels, with the political agility and business nous to know how to achieve the right outcome.

  • You're someone who can confidently lead; you will own the vision and end-to-end process for your channel, and will drive the right channel shifts.  Your insight into customer segments and experience enables you to champion best-fit solutions. Of course underpinning this is your ability to measure and monitor channel performance, adapting appropriately.

  • You're also a pragmatist – you'll be working in an environment of constant change and innovation, so you understand there is a time and place for perfectionism.
