Group Lead, Capability & Outcomes

Our transformed organisation is taking a big step forward, with appointments to be made into the senior leadership teams of the newly formed Capability & Outcomes group.

This Group Lead role, could be based in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, or Christchurch, and will operate within and across  a range of diverse business streams. This role has the responsibility to deliver both functional and advisory services across our new Customer and Compliance Services, planning & front-footing the capability needs of the business to ensure we achieve our service aspirations to both internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Capability and Outcomes Leader, you will be empowered to lead a team of up to 15 Capability & Outcome Specialists. Your team provides services to the operational and wider business such as the development of functional & segment strategies to planning end to end workflow initiatives, and mapping current state to future delivery needs.

As such, we are looking for some key attributes in your background, including:

  • Significant expertise in leading geographically-spread teams, embedding a common understand, vision to achieve targets, goals and objectives  This will be demonstrated through your passion and ability  to connect and develop individuals and teams; ensuring people are a focus through coaching and empowerment
  • Being a recognised authority and thought-leader in your area, with great practices in continuous improvement and delivery while having a high level of understanding of broader systems context
  • The ability to understand the big picture, and how the connected parts intersect, so the right action is taken at the right time
  • Experienced in leading change management, taking people on a journey and moving from functional type operations to a mature and well-networked advisory service
  • Technical stewardship and accountability for 'best practice'/standards in a large and complex organisation
  • The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships is essential
  • A high level of emotional intelligence is a must!

To achieve these outcomes you will partner with other leaders to develop and deliver an integrated strategy to represent IR, and our partner agencies, in different contexts.

You will have the appropriate credibility, skills and knowledge to provide services to Māori in the spirit of the Treaty of Waitangi.
