Inland Revenue is currently reinventing itself as a modern revenue organisation.  This transformation is bringing about significant change to the way we operate and how we interact with our customers. Critical to this is our Customer Services workforce who will need to have a different set of skills and capabilities to deliver improved services.

We continuing to modernising our approach to learning through the delivery of our principles based L&D strategy and our innovative Learning & Development (L&D) team which is now a year old. Due to progression of our current Senior Advisor, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning and Development Senior Advisor to join us in Wellington.

We require a Senior Advisor who has an in-depth understanding and experience working in, L&D at both an operational and strategic level.  Through your highly developed organisational skills you will have the ability to lead and manage a diverse range of work of varying complexity.  In this role, your project management skills will be put to the test and you will need well-developed collaboration and influencing skills to ensure practices align with our L&D strategy and learning principles.

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • A robust ability to critically analyse the implications of recommendations, initiatives and complex situations, to identify emerging trends, assess organisational opportunities and anticipate future impacts
  • Clear and logical strategic thinking and planning capability with the ability to work through complex issues
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and applying frameworks, the ability to facilitate the introduction of new ideas and be influential in the adoption of industry best practice
  • Current technical and operational knowledge around the design, development and implementation of L&D products and/or services.  

As a successful Senior Advisor you will have:

  • A pro-active attitude, strong self-management skills and the ability to build credibility as well as challenge others’ thinking
  • Strong interpersonal skills and highly developed communication skills to engage others to support the successful design, communication and implementation of standardised processes across the organisation
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and abstract ideas
